Christian Did It Once Again
The ECW title is the title that has been continuously making the ECW Champion Christian and the former Champion Tommy Dreamer come face to face. It all began at the Extreme Rules when Dreamer pinned Christian down for the ECW title victory. It was then when his long waited and dearest dream came true. Since then, many ECW Superstars had been eyeing at his dear title. But Christian was after that title in particular.
It was obvious for Christian to go after him as he was the one holding the title which once used to be on his waist.
During his reign as the ECW Champion, Jack Swagger almost got the title but the match went to no result as Christian broke in to the ring and saved Dreamer from loosing the title. He did that to ensure the title to be in his hands only so he could take revenge and get back his title from him. At The Bash, Dreamer once again defended his title.
It was an ECW Scramble match with the toughest stipulations. Christian failed to get back his title on that occasion along with Jack Swagger, Finlay and Mark Henry.
After than, Christian was in search of another opportunity to get a title match against Dreamer and he got one at the Night of Champions. He defeated Vladimir Kozlov to become the No. 1 contender for the ECW title at the Night of Champions. That match had been very important for both of them.
Dreamer had to defend his dear title and Christian didn’t want to let the opportunity to go waste. But Christian overcame the ECW Original and got his ECW title back from Dreamer. That day, Dreamer’s reign as the ECW Champion ended.
On 4th August, Christian defended his ECW title successfully in an Extreme Rules match against Dreamer. It was one of the most extreme matches in ECW history with steel trash cans, crutches, Singapore canes and even a car door being made legal. The ECW Original tried every possible way to regain his title back. He used the whole lethal stuff provided on Christian.
But Christian endured all his assault and got back in form just at the time to pin Dreamer under the car door to retain the prestigious title.
Now, for how long Christian is going to defend the ECW title with Dreamer’s eyes on the title?
