Christian Wins at SummerSlam But Assaulted
What happened just before the SummerSlam in a tag team match between Christian & Ezekiel Jackson and William Regal & Kozlov got repeated at SummerSlam with Christian in the title match. The only difference between the last and this time was the fact that this time, he was not betrayed as he already knew who was on his side but was assaulted by those only as last time.
Though we thought Christian might just feel a bit shattered after the biggest betrayal he got just before the SummerSlam but the way he way he began and ended the match was superb. He won that title match in a record time of eight seconds and it was just a matter of hitting Regal with his lethal Killswitch just at the beginning and it was over for Regal.
He lost the match as well the opportunity to get hold of the prestigious ECW title. But that winning moment was as short as the time taken to come by.
Though the title still resides with Christian but he was brutally assaulted just seconds after he retained his title by the Regals’ associates who did the same with Christian last time as well.
The difference was that the moment Jackson along with Kozlov broke in to the ring; he knew Jackson was not there to rescue him at least but to assault him along with the other two in the ring.
It seems Christian got the punishment for his performance par excellence as he ended the match in mere seconds and that was such a nasty sort of punishment. He got slammed on to the mat first by the Powerhouse Superstar Jackson and then just afterwards by Kozlov, leaving The ECW Champion in a vulnerable state. But that was not enough as that is what Regal thought and went for a Regal Stretch on him just after the two big slams by his powerful associates.
That was such a scene no body could imagine; ECW Champion lying there, helpless and being punished for emerging out as the best. Christian came out of SummerSlam only with one satisfaction that he retained his title and no happiness as his winning moment was punctured by Regal and is bound to have an effect.
