Dreamer’s Dream Run Ended At Last
It was a very emotional situation for Dreamer, who waited for this ECW Championship for long nine years and that, was the moment he lost it once again. He has always dreamt of being the ECW Champion. He is the only left original ECW Superstar and since from the very beginning, he has kept himself on for the ECW title hunt.
Never seemed to be short of courage, hope and optimism; he has consistently performed and waited for the opportunity to grab his dream title. Even he won it in 2002 but that was hard luck for him that he lost his title the same night. But this time, it seemed he has decided to make his dream run a long run. He defended his title many times and under vigorous conditions.
He survived the ECW Scramble match where he was defending against the very best ECW Superstars; Jack Swagger, Finlay, Christian and Mark Henry. He was very hopeful for Night of Champions too. He looked very confident and was really looking forward to defend his dream title; ECW Championship title.
It was Dreamer who wished to face Christian at the Night of Champions for the ECW Championship title. When Christian was up against Vladimir Kozlov for the No. 1 contender ship, Dreamer was there only at the announce table, watching those two Superstars closely with either of them he was to face at the Night of Champions. Though he said he would feel proud and honor to defend against any of these Superstars but he personally wanted Christian to be there against whom he would be defending his dearest ECW title.
But later on, his that wish turned out to be lethal for him as he lost his hard earned ECW title to Christian. That was such a competitive match to watch. Christian kept on going after Dreamer’s neck and spine and focused there only all the time. Some call Christian “uncrowned ECW Champion” as he was never pinned In the Triple Threat Match in which Jack Swagger too was a competitor, nor this time Dreamer was able to pin him down.
The moment before Dreamer was pinned down, it was a to and fro situation. Christian attempted Killswitch on Dreamer who countered it by DDT but ultimately got countered by another Killswitch by Christian on Dreamer and he pinned him down for a big win.
This time, for how long Dreamer will have to wait for another opportunity to get his dear ECW title back, which right now is around Christian’s waist.
