Hardy and Punk Rivalry seeking an end at SummerSlam
On 7th of August, with SummerSlam a few days from now, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk met in the ring for the World Heavyweight Championship once again. It was a rematch for the title after The Enigma grabbed his dear title back from The Straightedge Superstar at the Night of Champions after Jeff came to the ring with a target set in his mind and got it. That was not for the first time in recent past that he won that title. It was at Extreme Rules that he wiped Edge off the World Heavyweight Championship title in a career threatening match. But it was Punk who destroyed his moment of victory as he broke in to the ring cashing his Money in the Bank opportunity and pinned down the match-worn out Jeff after putting a Go To Sleep.
After than, it was at The Bash that he got the opportunity he had been waiting for. But there also, part was his hard luck and rest was Punk’s selfish motto. Jeff pinned him down only to notice Punk’s foot a bit under the ropes. Later, Punk kicked the referee, loosing the match by disqualification but retaining the title.
Till that point, their rivalry had reached at apex. Then once again Jeff got a chance to bring the glory back to him at Night of Champions. He won that match and the title back with full determination and style.
In that rematch, there was a surprise for Jeff Hardy. But before the match could start, both the rivals broke in to a fight and stopped only after Mr. McMahon made an appearance with an announcement that Matt Hardy would be the special guest enforcer. While Jeff confronted with his brother outside the ring, CM Punk took the advantage of the diversion and went for an attack which eventually hit Matt as Jeff moved away. To Jeff’s great surprise; Matt pulled the referee and out of the ring after Punk was just about to pin Jeff down for the victory. Later, Matt helped his brother for the victory and left the ring without any further talk or action.
But Punk attacked the World Heavyweight Champion with a ruthless steal chair. After than, the GM came and announced a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match between the two at SummerSlam.
So, at SummerSlam, the WWE Universe is hope for an end to this rivalry but it may turn out to be a beginning.
