Jericho’s Big (Show) Surprise Worked at Night of Champions
It all started at The Bash when the SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long under the intense pressure from Mr. McMahon took a decision just at the last minute before the match which earned the tag team of Jericho and Edge to compete for the Unified Tag Team Championship which earlier was scheduled to be between then-Champions Carlito & Primo and The Legacy.
Then it became a match between the three tag teams and Jericho & Edge undoubtedly dominated the other two easily and won the Unified Tag Team Championship.
Then another twist came in for this title when the Special guest host The Million Dollar Man at the Monday night Raw granted his son Ted DiBiase a rematch and another opportunity to get hold of the Unified Tag Team title along with his The Legacy mate Cody Rhodes. But Edge got his Achilles tendon injured and landed Jericho in trouble. But it was not so as it appeared to every one.
He had a plan; he kept this thing in his mind before signing his contract with Edge. He deliberately added a clause that if his partner Edge gets injured, then he has an option and a free will to choose any other partner of his own choice. He said he always knew Edge would one day land him in this sort of situation and thus he was prepared for it.
He revealed his plans to the WWE Universe but with a promise to reveal his new tag team partner just before the match at Night of Champions. It was to give his opponents a little time to change their plan and strategy for the match. No one knew he would come up with a big plan under his belt. His new partner was none other than his own rival Big Show, with whom he had his many disputes. But it seemed they forgot all their past and just concentrated on their match and that too with unbelievable co-ordination and synchronization.
Easily they got a starting lead into the match. But The Legacy members themselves have got enormous talent and once they were out of that shock given by Jericho in the form of Big Show, they put a valiant attack in response to theirs’ and put their every skill on show against their Big (Show) strength and skills.
But after Jericho’s Codebreaker and Big Show’s Colossal Clutch on Ted, it was inevitable for the win to keep them waiting.
At last, Jericho’s plan worked and he along with his new tag team partner are now the new Unified Tag Team Champions.
