Raw and The Champ At Their Best

With a guest host every Night on Raw, Raw has reached the apex of popularity. Though it was very much before too but always there is something more than the best. With Shaquille O’Neal-the 7-footer NBA icon as the guest host for last Monday night Raw, WWE Universe witnessed a fully entertaining night. As the night proceeded, it became evident that Shaquille knows other ways to make an impression other than his mammoth body and height. He was there to announce a series of “Beat the Clock” matches to determine the No. 1 contender for WWE title at SummerSlam.
First “Beat the Clock” match of the night was between Mark Henry and Carlito. The World’s Strongest Man took just 6mins and 49 secs to beat the Carlito and the Clock.
Second one to go was MVP against Chris Masters. Though Chris Masters got a lead at the beginning but the match ended in a double disqualification, ending up MVP’s dream to become WWE Champion for the time being.
Then came John Cena challenging Clock and The Miz. It was usual as The cocky Superstar began his attack of taunts over Cena and assured the viewers his win. But after the bell rang and it was the time to show some action after a talk but he failed to do so. He gave up to Cena’s STF and tapped to give Cena a chance to be the No. 1 contender ship for the WWE title at SummerSlam and he did got it at the end of night.
Another one of the “Beat the Clock” matches for the No. 1 contender ship for WWE title at SummerSlam was between Triple H and Cody Rhodes. But seems The Legacy has decided to make Triple H’s life a hell for him. Just few hours before that match, they broke in to the match and helped Orton to retain his title. This time, when he was there to grab his chance to regain his title at SummerSlam, The Legacy again spoiled his plans as Ted DiBiase interfered when Triple H was just about to beat the clock and time expired.
Jack Swagger tried to beat the clock against the high flying Superstar Evan Bourne and was very much hopeful. But Evan had his own plans. He kicked out of Swagger’s maneuver and seized a spot and pinned him down, robbing his chance at SummerSlam.
Out of those who did beat the Clock, John Cena took the least time and hence got the opportunity to face Randy Orton in a WWE title match and to regain is gold back from The Viper. John Cena is at his very best of his career and with umpteen opportunities ahead him, SummerSlam being the one.
