The Steel of Strength and Determination Rules: John Cena vs Big Show

There is not one single but umpteen testimonies to the above title at Extreme Rules. In the world of WWE, victory over one matters but victory by submission makes the difference and when some one makes a giant like man to submit, it becomes virtually impossible to digest.
The former World Champion John Cena made everybody’s stomach to clench when he won the submission match against 7-foot, 485 pound Big Show on 7th June, 2009 at Extreme Rules. After that victorious moment, everybody would have said,’ the champ is here’.There were a hell lot of questions on everybody’s face after the match was announced.
“How extreme can it go at Extreme Rules?”
“Is it possible to make a big man like Big Show to submit?”
But the Champ answered these questions by overcoming the world’s Largest Athlete with his steel of strength and determination.
For Cena, going for that match was certainly uncomfortable as odds were clearly not going his way. There were two main problems for him. One was Big Show’s Cobra Clutch Backbreaker and the other was the fact that it is almost impossible to apply his STF submission on him considering his mammoth body size. He came to know that fact last month at Judgment Day when he failed to lock his arms around his 500-pound structure for consecutively three times.
So it was on card to use a modified STF if he had to win. Even after suffering a strangle from the 7-footer, he fought back, used a leg drop and made use of one of the ring ropes to apply a different, a modified STF and then, that happened which no body expected out of that match; Big Show tapped and submitted himself.
This victory indeed was very much needed by Cena. The 7-footer had made him his target since backlash (April) where he chock slammed him very ruthlessly. Although Cena made it against Show at a Judgment Day singles match, it was not enough for the mammoth superstar and he continued going after his target.
Now, after the Giant himself submitted against him, will he accept his defeat finally or still seek revenge? Well, this will become clear on next Monday at Raw whether he has accepted Cena as a man better that him or not.
Till then, keep watching.
