Tommy Dreamer-Living his Dream
Till now, the name of Tommy Dreamer was no where in the list of shining superstars at ECW. Superstars like Shane Douglas and Sandman have always decorated the name of ECW but Dreamer was never among them, bringing name and fame to ECW with one exception; an April night, 2000.
This was the story so far but now, Dreamer have turned the tables; fulfilling his dreams. But this journey has not been really easy but too tough. He has always been attached to ECW, not giving any fame though but always been there. He made his way and survival possible to 2009 and in fact he is the only left original superstar at ECW. Achieving ECW Championship title was his only dream. He made a lot of struggle but never left hopes. He always has been seeking an opportunity to show his caliber and to present himself.
6th June was the last date of his contract with ECW and he didn’t want to leave empty handed. So he did a promise to ECW fans but more to himself that he will live his dream and that too before 6th of June. He got two chances but wasn’t able to make it in either. But he should be very thankful to Jack Swagger who interfered illegally in a title match between Dreamer and Christian. That illegal interference earned Dreamer an extra day at ECW but more over a chance to be a part of Extreme Rules which was on 7th June. There, he got one more chance and he utilized that chance to the fullest. It was a Triple Threat Hardcore Rules match for the ECW title and he did it. At last he made it and now at present, Dreamer is the new ECW Champion.
Now the main question was; with Dreamer at the top of ECW, will Christian and Jack Swagger be able to contain their resentment?
And that question did not remain unanswered for long. It was on Tuesday, 9th of June when Dreamer was to sign his new contract with ECW but it was the moment for his foes to act. They went to destroy the moment of life of Dreamer, Christian demanding a rematch and Jack Swagger insisting on the WWE to be stripped off Dreamer. Before Dreamer signed the contract, he and Christian threw Jack out of the ring. But after Dreamer got back to ECW by signing the contract, Christian threw him on to the table. It was all happening there. Christian and Dreamer had a tag team match against The Hart Dynasty but that got nixed after all that. Tiffany told Christian to tag with Jack against The Hart Dynasty instead afterwards. They were not able to put their differences away and ended up in attacking each other, which in turn ended them up on the loosing side. After the match, The Hart Dynasty and Swagger went after Christian but Dreamer came out of no where, ceased them and gave Swagger a Singapore Cane while the others left the ring before Dreamer could get to them.
Till now, Dreamer has got the title with him, although Christian and Jack spoiled his glorious moments but will he able to defend his title against Christian on Monday?
