Paul Donald Wight, Jr. is presently the Largest Athlete in the World. Confused? Aren’t you? Well, your doubt is bound to be there as very few know him by this name, his actual name. He is a giant (name) in the World of wrestling.
Born on 8th February, 1972, Donald is mostly known by his ring name; The Big Show.
- He has other names as well like, ‘The Extreme Giant’, ‘The Great Wight’ ,’The World’s Largest Athlete, ‘The Big Nasty’ etc.
- He does not just have big bones but is suffering from acromegaly, an endocrine system effecting disease. Now one can imagine what that disease does to the body by looking at the Giant. A successful surgery was done on his pituitary glands in 1990 which ceased his growth.
- Seems to be quite impossible but is a reality; at 12, he was not just a little boy but 6 ft 2 in and 100kg in weight. It may seem to be amusing but in 2005, he hired a bus and a driver for his travelling as his mammoth sized body used to create problems in travelling by air or car.
- At present, he is 37, 7 ft and 220 kg in weight. Thanks to that successful surgery.
- He has been arrested once when a hotel clerk made an allegation against him that he exposed himself to him but was later on released due to insufficient evidence.
- Now getting to his married life, he married twice. His first wife was Melissa Ann Piavis and he married her on the most romantic day; 14th February in 1997. But they were not able to be together for long and got divorced after three years. He has a daughter from her; Cierra Then he got married again on 11th February, 2002 to Bess Katramados.
- Talking about his career, his achievements are well synchronized with his ring name. Currently on Raw, he earned the honor to be a World Champion for 5 times. He has been a WWE Champion twice, ECW World Heavyweight Champion once and WCW World Heavyweight Champion twice in his career.
- If you can see, he has been a Champion in WWE, ECW and WCW and he is the only one to achieve that in the whole history of Wrestling.
- Many of you would not believe but he has been an actor too. He even appeared in umpteen TV Shows and has quite a few movies too under his belt.
- When he comes to ring, he always has his lethal weapons with him; Chock slam and his left-handed punch. Every one knows he has a very strong left hand. He has always been a roar in the ring.
