Darren Matthews, also known by his ring name ‘William Regal’ is a professional wrestler, currently working with Raw (WWE).
Born on 10th of May, 1968, he is an English weighing 110.5 Kg and 6 ft 2 in tall.
- Apart from being a wrestler in WWE, he was a commissioner and the General Manager too.
- He married to Christina in 1986 and has three sons from her: Daniel, Dane and Bailey.
- His actual accent is West Midlands accent but he uses a different one in the ring.
- He has a tattoo saying “Made In England” on his left leg.
- He thinks Humans are wicked creatures and for the same reason owns umpteen pets. There is a long lost of his pets; he has two snakes, three cats, eight lizards, two dogs and a tortoise.
- Once he got arrested while he was on a flight to US (from Japan). Under the influence of drinks he took on the flight, he urinated on a stewardess. Afterwards he claimed that he isn’t able to remember any thing regarding that incident and said that he just opened his eyes and he was in a cell.
- His career hasn’t been problem free. He was given illegal drugs for umpteen times and he also suffered from a severe heart problem due to which he had to be out of ring for quite a time.
- ‘Walking a Golden Mile’ is the title of his autobiography.
- Besides a wrestler, a commissioner and General Manager, he has been a trainer too, having trained a number of wrestlers like CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Chris Hero, Brian Kendrick etc.
- Talking about his wrestling career in WWE, he is a 5 times WWF Hardcore Champion, a 4 times WWE European Champion, a 2 times WWE Intercontinental Champion and has been the King of the Ring in 2008. In tag team matches, he has won Word Tag Team Championship 4 times, one with Tajiri, once with Eugene and twice with Lance Storm.
- He is famous for his Signature Brass Knuckles which are his foreign object.
